Any thoughts as to what the problem is, and what the final solution may be? Mind you, I've gone through about 6 cycles of this over the last 3-4 years. Google searches (which are likely inadequate-on my end) didn't reveal any readily applicable information.
I have done a full factory reset when the problems first started appearing, but it didn't do anything to resolve the issue. Since then I go in a cycle of no issues whatsoever to the gradually increasing crashes and video card re-insertion. Until they started up again about 6 months later. Upon re-insertion and rebooting, the freezing/crashing problems disappeared. I initially thought, 'maybe a dust bunny somehow is clogging things up, causing some overheating issues', but things were quite clean. This is what first led me to open up the machine, pull out the vid card, and re-insert it. Some of these times the monitor stays in sleep mode as if its not connected to anything with these freezes. At first the freezes come every few days but gradually ramp up until, for example, today when it crashed 5 times in a few hours-sometimes crashing/freezing when booting up. However, I've noticed, that every 3-6 months, it starts to randomly freeze and crash, in general, when doing higher intensity activities-specifically, playing WoW while streaming videos. In general, it works well enough for my needs (online gaming, WoW, academic and professional stuff, etc.). When it is finished, close Revo Uninstaller then download the latest FormatFactory. This removes everything the program created on your computer. So, I've had my current rig for a number of years. When uninstall is complete, click Scan to scan your computer for any leftover files and delete everything it finds.
